Anyone have experience with acrylic? We got some acrylic tubes and bent them for fuel sight gauges. Wondering if they will hold up better to Mogas?

Doesn't look like Gas or Ethanol is good. Maybe someone else will chime in...

Dustin,
Kitfox uses tygon tubing with a piece of brazing rod inside to hold the shape. There are about 8,000 versions of tygon, the one used by kitfox stays pliable over time and does not appear to be affected by gasoline (100LL or 91 octane corn free) other than becoming gradually darker over time - I have replaced the tygon at 5 year intervals to counteract the darkening tendency when I do the Rotax rubber replacement.

How would you attach to the barbed tank fittings? Is this acrylic brittle like most acrylic?

The old Kitfox factory Skystar, used similiar tubes for the sight gauges on my Series 5. While I am not sure if they were acrylic, they were a miserable failure (breaking ang cracking over time) , with guys having tanks of fuel weeping into the fuselage at inapportune times. Luckily I found out about these failures before kit completion and retrofitted with my own version of what they sell with the current kits. Beware. Bruce N199CL
Dustin,
Re: sight gauges - I'm going to post some info on this subject on my build thread now also.
