Looking into getting my self some new wheels. My current 500-5 Cleveland are just to small.
I have 1.25" axles which is nice but they can be changed.
What do you run? Size? Brand? Tires?

Loving my 6x6 Grove wheels and double puck brakes. I have two sets. One "standard" set for my Bushwheels and one "tubeless" set for my 21x800-6 Desser tires used in the winter with skis...
I still have those 8" ATV wheels on my old gear. I just don't want to spend $200 on new axles to mount them to my grov gear.
Why did you go with the grov gear over the matco 6x6 double brakes?
Price point is nice on those.
Also the matco I think are lighter.
As long as I don't have to change out the brakes every time having set's of wheels would be great.
Yes. Rather than dismounting tires twice a year, I just followed what I do with the winter tires on my car. I have a full set of wheels and rotors ready to swap out with tires already mounted. The unused ones get cleaned and the bearings repacked as soon as they come off so switch-back is quick and easy.
As a side benefit at condition inspection I don't need to pull off wheels and brakes.
I realize, once again I will sound like and old fashioned old timer, but I am using the original 1992 Matco wheels and brakes on my Model IV. For some reason "modernizing" has never been a consideration as the brakes have worked fine on both IVs totalling 1000 hours. Granted, they may not hold against a full power run up, but I have been able to raise the tailwheel at times on landing and from the mouth of Mark, my long time flying buddy, that can be a bad thing.
My model 5 came with Cleveland wheels/brakes and master cylinders. I have two sets of tires/wheels/brake discs. One set has the Desser 22" tundra tires and the other has 600x6 tires. I do the same thing as Av8r3400 and swap out the wheel assembly as needed.
