2019 Kitfox Fly-in Aug 23rd-25th

Here we go.. finally got some details ironed out for the 2019 Kitfox Fly-in.
We have decided to hold the 2019 Kitfox fly-in at an off site location.. ID87 Rainbow Ranch in Idaho Falls, ID.

ID87 is at 4750 MSL, has a beautiful 2400' x 120' Grass strip and is located about an hour flight from the Grand Teton National park in Jackson Hole, WY or YellowStone National Park, WY.

This is the 35th year of Kitfox and we are absolutely stronger than ever! Thanks in no small part to all of you!
Hope you can plan to make the trip to ID87 to join us for the Fly-in.

It is very helpful if you can RSVP to 2019flyin@kitfoxaircraft.com so we can plan to have enough food for everyone!

Sadly I won't be making it. I booked the wrong weekend off thinking it was first weekend in September.

Well, the period of time that is concerning is Saturday upon return. From what we can decipher currently, it looks like it could be a quartering headwind for runway 25. Idaho Falls and McCarley could be our respite for a few hours. Sunset is late and winds look like they subside well before. I believe the return on Saturday is not that late in the afternoon, before the winds peak. I fly regularly with winds close to this but they are a bit more down the runway than what it appears it could be at the ranch.

And I guess there is a hangar there we can use to stay out of the wind when hanging out at Rainbow. I airplane-camped with only a tent for shelter over last weekend in wind and dust and it got tiresome pretty quickly. I'll continue to look at the weather, but I'm leaning toward coming out. It's as much about meeting up with the community as it is about the flying for me.
