Summer heat is here in Utah and it has been miserably hot. The older I get the less I like the heat. Lately the fun flying is, starting before sun-up, which is my new favorite, and watching the sun rise in the air. Found a couple new places to land. I love finding new places to land, getting out and enjoying the peace and quiet. A couple quick photos for you!

I had saw where Terry Johnstone sent his back in for new pistons and crankshaft. He said his has not been flown.

Yes.....the CP pistons are not wearing correctly. I removed my CP pistons and spent forever measuring them trying to figure out where the high AL count in my oil analysis is coming form. Well I found it! The oil scraper top ring has been wearing into the piston ring land on one of the pistons. Comparing the 915 piston to the CP piston and I can see a huge upgrade. Thank you Thomas from Edge Performance for figuring this one out. Sounds like all new 912STI's will come with 915 pistons. Thanks Rotax for the engineering on the 915 pistons! I have got 5 hours on the new pistons and changed out the breakin oil to sport 4. Leakdown before I even started it was 80/80 and it is making more power. About 50-75 rpms.
