so... I taxied out to the run up area and discovered my alternator seemed to not be charging ... I sense I'm about to begin a long process, so i'm just wondering if anyone has any particular insight that may save me time?
thanks in advance,
Karl

Have you checked the alternator fuse or circuit breaker yet? Loose wires? Start with the easy first.

Hi Dave,
thanks for your response - after an afternoon of troubleshooting I narrowed it down to the rectifier. I get 16V AC in (from the alternator) and 0 volts DC out.
Don't know why it should have gone bad, its all new.

Regulator-Rectifier fail frequently. I carry a spare when going cross country.
