Default Back up battery is in.

Got the parts all in and battery box rebuild, and everything back installed in the rear of the plane today and all works well.
Now we are moving the fuel screen out to the side of the engine where it is easy to get to.
It is almost impossible to get to where it is mounted. I think it was fine before turbo engines filled up the area behind the engine and made it almost impossible to get to.
My fuel screen was mounted backwards before they changed the instructions, so we were going to have to move the mount anyway.

Pic of the screen after moving it out to the passenger side where it can easily be maintained. This is a much better location to get to the screen.

    Hello Harlan
I am interested in why it is believed that the strainer was installed backward. Mine is installed per the instructions and as I see it, it is correct. The reason I believe this is because
in my installation the fuel is pulled through the screen by the fuel pump. This flow is through the screen from the inside out. The larger spring on the outside of the screen allows the
fuel to bypass the screen should the screen become clogged on the inside. If the flow is reversed, as it seems you suggest would be correct, then the outer large spring becomes a non
functioning item except to maybe keep the screen from moving around. Hope that makes sense?

Eddie - I believe you’re correct, and that’s how I installed mine also. I could be wrong, but I think this configuration is pretty standard with filters of this design.

I also agree with your thought process. The new screens have a flow arrows on them that turns them around. The factory says to turn them around is all I know but my thoughts were that it seemed to be the right direction before. I have that on my list of things to research if I can find the screen manufacturer. I just haven't done it. My mount now allows it to work either way. I just turned it when I moved it because Fred said factory said it was wrong.

Yeah, mine doesn't have a flow arrow on it. Guess you would have to compare my pic with what is inside yours to know if its still the same part number.

This is the only pic of the fuel screen I can find but it doesn't show the screen inside. Fred had a thread on it, but I can't find it.

Hi Harlan. I suspect that the innerds (spring and screen) could be turned around and installed in the opposite direction all the while the outer housing remaining the same. I didnt try that so Im not sure.

My previous post about this was incorrect… my filter is installed as indicated by the pictures you posted, Harlan.

Interesting. I will try turning my internal screen around the way it should be for flow. The way the outside side is now is better for Maintenace.
