I’m having some paint bubbling on my IV Classic cowling with a 582 that is close to the muffler. Any recommendations on a heat shielding product?

It’s expensive but the best stuff I found. Clean surface that your applying good with acetone. I use it to protect my cowling from my turbo that’s glows red hot. I also use it on my snowmobile to protect plastic hood from hot turbo. It’s insulated so it can take a lot of heat. Only complaint is it’s really hard to get backing off. I use a razor blade to separate the backing off of the adhesive.

Is the exhaust actually touching the cowl. On my 582 powered Kitfox IV it was and the fix was not hear shield. The exhaust was a little if and I cut the expansion chamberrchamber after elbow, repositioned and re welded it. Cured a small exhaust leak and moved the elbow after the y pipe away from the cowl.
