    Default BA Kitfox S-7 STi

The journey has begun. Woke up at 4 am on Friday to make the pilgrimage to Homedale, ID from Utah about a 4.5-hour drive. This was close to one of the greatest days of my life. I have been waiting for many years to fulfill the dream of building an aircraft. Now the fun begins.

Upon arriving at the Kitfox factory I was warmly greeted by Brandon. We wasted no time and got the plane loaded up in the trailer. Brandon was a huge help (doing 90% of the work) in making sure the plane was loaded safely for the journey home. He also took a ton of time walking me through the factory. This was a huge help in wrapping my mind around the build. Thanks a ton Brandon.

Congratulations! Looking like Utah is developing a large Kitfox contingency.

I have known Brandon Peterson for awhile now and I can say that he and his family are some of the best human beings that I have had the pleasure to be around. They always make you feel welcome. As does the whole Kitfox crew in Homedale.
You have made the right choice with the Kitfox and I know that you will enjoy every minute of the build.

Building a Kitfox is not like building a Lego set like I had imagined. There is way more work in reaming holes, trimming to fit, and attention to detail. But so far I feel like I'm off to a good start. Im about 30 hours into the build and feel like I am starting to get my head wrapped around the process.

Last night I was able to get all the ribs fitted and ready on the vertical stabilizer. I have been debating on varnishing them before or after I hysol them into place. It looks like it can be done either way??

I'll do my best... but I think you guys have a bit of a head start.

Your planes are looking amazing. I need to get down there to come see them.

    Perkins,
    Your build is looking good!
To insure the best bond, you should install them before you varnish them, IMO.
