Not to spoil the party, but please remember that in a crash or fast deceleration, everything back there is now going to become a projectile. Would be a real shame to survive impact but get injured by flying debris. Bruce N199CL

Good point Bruce. I have some reservations about using a 3D printed plastic part as a structural piece. Will it able to withstand deceleration forces? For certified aircraft we have to use AC43.13-2B chapter 1 and do load limit testing for mods mounted in an aircraft. The principal applies just as well to experimental aircraft.

I have a few 3D printed parts in my Kitfox, but nothing structural. I only have knobs, handles and trim pieces.
