Just getting started with the firewall. Once secured by four 1/4" bolts, the boot cowl is placed on it with the forward part of the firewall flange up against the rear part of the cowl flange. The boot cowl is supposed to be adjusted so the curl at the bottom curves around the longerons. However, the part of the firewall that fits under the fuselage sticks out about 1/16" at the front 3/32" at the rear of that piece of the firewall and prevents the boot cowl from butting up against the longerons. Am I supposed to trim this so it is just slightly inboard of the longeron to allow the boot cowl to fit against the longeron? Or is there another way to get the boot cowl to fit?

Thanks,

Steve
