I'd rather be out flying my Kitfox, but I have to build it first. I got my first two cross coats of Polyspray on today. Tomorrow morning I'll wet sand and spray the final coats of Polyspray.

Hard day of work! I'm ready for the hot tub!

Good luck to all you builders out there!

With metal planes, paint is the last thing to do. My covering and painting are done at last!! I am about half done.

The washers I used are about 3/4 od with a 3/16 hole. The first ones I installed were not tapered and I did not like the ridge. That's when I put them on a mandrel to taper the outside edge for a cleaner and smoother look.

Great observation. With the plastic airplanes, paint is after a year of flying per the frequent need to do some serious tweaking.

I got my gear and flaperon brackets back from the Powder coat shop in Polyfiber Federal gray. The gear looks pretty good in front of my Alaska Bushwheels.

It took me two days to install and sand the grooves out of the strut faring kit. Lots of work on this task! I was able to get the grooves completly sanded out. Lots of sandpaper needed!

This past weekend I primered The Flaperons struts and access panels.

At this point everything firewall back is primed/polysprayed and ready for the final top coat. I have an exciting few days ahead of me. With any luck I should have the plane on its wheels within a week or two.

I got the wings and fuse painted today. Turned out great! I'm going to paint a black stripe down the fuse & the tail feathers tomorrow.

So far ... I like it! The black stripe should really set it off.
