Looks like a chunky spot, and high too.

So the ACK gremlin strikes another ELT! Cory shows up to the hangar and one of our ELTS is going off. Not sure how long, but he hurried and called and they said they had not received a hit yet? I am thinking because of the large steel structure they where not able to pickup the elt. Unhooked the remote and turned off the elt. Now we don't trust leaving it armed?

Dustin, I had lots of issues with my ACK ELT with the antenna mounted in the stock SS7 location. A point of note, my ads-b antenna is mounted just below on the plate behind the co-pilot. I was having all kinds of random false activations until I moved my ELT antenna. It is now mounted as far back in the tail as I could get it with the cable it came with. I haven't had any issues in months. I would have prefered to move the ADS-b antenna but that was more difficult. Strange yours happened with nothing else powered on, but I figured Id share another data point.

Thanks Joe. Some good info. Yeah our transponder/adsb antennas are clear back by the tailwheel a recommendation made to us by Nikk. Aircraft was just sitting in the hangar so must of been some weird electrical static that triggered it somehow? Hopefully doesn’t keep doing this as either aircraft has had an issues.

Quick flight update. Early morning flight to head to backcountry of Utah before the high forecast winds set in. Got up at 4am to depart by 5am. Early morning departures have to be my favorite. Plan was to fly down to Huntinging and meet up with 5 other planes and head south for the day. Looked like weather was only going to allow flying for one day so we made the most of it. I flew from Provo to Huntington to meet up with Scott then we went Cedar Mountain, Mexican Mountain, Hidden Splendor, Dirty Devil, Happy Canyon, Green river bank, Sand Bar, Mineral Basin, Moab. I took fuel in Moab and flew back to Provo. It was awesome flying and was smooth for the entire day until the trip home. I had been watching the buildups starting on the Wasatch front and new crossing back over them back home was not going to be fun. It was bumpy and I am not a fan over afternoon flying!

15,500'!! Talk about the nosebleed seats.

Is that a trim indicator in the lower left of your display?

I don't know if I'm more impressed with your airplane, your flying destinations or your hangar!
