Default 912 engine weight old v's new

I am soon to remove my high time early 90's magnesium case engine and replace with a new 80 hp
i have been told there is a substantial gain in weight (10kg?) and will have to do a new weight and balance
Is this gain in weight really this much? Both engines don't have the slipper clutch. The new one has the 100 hp ratio gearbox. Has anyone done a weight comparison?

I can't answer your question on weight difference, however, an engine change should require a new weighing and weight and balance calculation.
