    Default Rk400 and pull start

Anyone have any subjective info on how much of a reduction of pull starting force on a 582 with the rk400 clutch? Right now mine is a bear to start in the winter, but I know part of it is the 74” club at the end of the gearbox. Thanks in advanced.

It'll have a significant effect. The clutch doesn't engage until 2200-2300 RPM. I doubt you spin it that fast with a pull starter.

    BTW, that's a heck of a prop on a 582. I hope it's light weight.

Avid supplied a Culver 74 x 48 or 49 prop on their Avids that had a 582 with C gearbox and 3-1 ratio. It does look huge on the plane. My first Avid MK IV had one. JImChuk
