I saw this yesterday as well. Following closely. Very interesting how he came to this design.

I’ve been talking with Alex about this since HSF. I’m interested but with my forward c of g issues, 16# is too heavy.

Esser - did you get to see the system at HSF???
If it installs like I think, true it will weigh 16lbs, but the moment will only be 1.5 inches - so not too much of an effect on CG.
I'm kinda excited to see how this works out. I really like the idea of keeping the Grove gear and being able to add suspension capability to it.

No just computer models etc. I should have said too that my plane is heavier than I want it. I would rather have bush gear for the same weight I have now with my extended gear than 16 extra pounds. I'm already trying to shed weight as it it.

AOA on take off and landing. In Idaho I would always hit tail first by a large margins.

Figure you guys like an update about the gear. Sorry I completely missed this thread. Need to come here more often.
I have around 30 hours on it. Been flying on all types of terrain. Last weekend I changed the shock PSI from 190lbs down to 175lbs. It seems to be flexing a lot more. I want to fly some more hours and adjust again if needed. Overall I am super happy with the design. It works as intended. It can be made a lot lighter. It is super hefty as a first design try. I am pretty sure the overall weight per side can be reduced by 1/2 without compromising its strength.
Here's a video where I do some more testing with it.
