How do smoke systems work on a 2 stroke? Does anybody have plans or pictures of a homebuilt system?
How do smoke systems work on a 2 stroke? Does anybody have plans or pictures of a homebuilt system?
Nobody answered his thread, now 3 years ago, but no sense starting a new one with the same question. Let me word it differently.
Has anybody purchased the smoke system from KITFOX LLC and/or used it on a two cycle engine?

Jeff I don't know why you couldn't install a smoke system on a 2 stroke. If it were me I'd add after the expansion chamber but essentially your just making oil smoke from contact with hot metal. I did a quick google search and found this video of a 2 stroke with a smoke system. Hope this helps.

Elsewhere on TeamKitfox forum, I was led to a link to “Smoke System Helper”. Site is Localedge.com. Phone 979-709-1509. As I recall, his name is Jim and he was very helpful. While he sells whole systems for certified 4-strokes, he has two stroke knowledge as well. I bought a nozzle from him for $65, and he gave me the time for a discussion which concluded that I had mostly everything else that I needed. I have done one engine run as proof of concept, and I will be refining the system. I went through two bottles of Johnson Baby oil in about 10 seconds. I attached a couple of pictures, note the tank is strapped in the passenger seat, and it will be removable. A couple other links were useful, but not handy. I will post them later.
