    Default Boot Cowl Help

Can anyone tell me if I'm missing something? I scoured the forums, and it looks like to curves on the lower edge of the boot cowl should fit over the lower fuse longerons and the firewall. My firewall extends well past the lower longerons though, so I can't fine a satisfactory position for it.

Also, If I make the aft end of the forward flange flush with the front of the firewall (per the manual), the bottom curves don't match the angle of the longerons. I think the thing to do here is to make the bottom edge fit right, as the rest of the cowl will me match-fit to the boot cowl flange, so some error here is permissible. Did anyone else notice this?

It's been awhile, but I think I clamped the lower edge of the firewall flush with the bottom of the fuselage. Once the firewall side closeouts are riveted to the firewall, it will retain its shape.

I think maybe if I sharpen the bends in tge footwells, it will pull up tight...

The bottom of the firewall should fit up very tight against the bottom of the fuselage. Then the boot cowl will fit fine.

Yeah, it was obvious once I though of it. You just have to tighten the bends on the footwell portion.
