What is everyone using for insurance on their Kitfox aircraft, and what are the rates averaging? Yes, I'm in the market for a used Kitfox, but I want all my "ducks in a row" when the time comes to actually buy.

Old Republic insurance company through an agent at BWI. $1012/yr for $50k full coverage. 900 hrs s.e.l., 250 hrs tailwheel.

I recently received two quotes on my renewal, same coverage (through Gallager as a agent) as before (sorry for lack of details on exact coverage but I do remember it is hull, ground and flight value at 23K.)
Falcon quoted around $2400.
Gallagher quoted $1012.
Was about $1080 last year. Guess which one I an Renewing with.

Just renewed the insurance on the Mangy through Falcon, this week.
$50k hull for $1015/year with AIG. Down from $1085 last year.
There is no consistency or prediction of what will be quoted this year.

Thanks for your input guys. This is all new to me, so I really appreciate it. I'll be stopping by the factory in Homedale as soon as everyone is back from Oshkosh, so I'm hoping to get a bit more of an education on the in and outs of owning a Kitfox.
You can always ask insurance companies for quotes. The things that will bring you premium down are: recent experience, time in type, ratings (Com/ATP, IFR), total time, and tailwheel time (I see you are looking for a TW). Having it hangared and being a member of EAA/AOPA may reduce it too.
FYI if you find a used model 6 or 7 they are convertible from trike to tailwheel. In that case you could initially fly it as a trike for a much lower premium, then switch over to TW once you get a good feel for the plane.
