    Default Proseal the firewall

    After quite a search I finally settled on using Proseal firewall sealant to seal up some of the small holes in my KF-IV firewall. A big thanks to Randy for telling me of it as he used qite a bit of it while building his RV. I believe there are a couple formulas...one is used to seal up the gas tanks on the RV models and the other is called Flamemaster (Dynaseal). This stuff can be purchased thru Van's Aircraft and withstands flashpoints up to 2000 degrees. The thing I liked was it has some elasticity after it dries so as not to crack under vibration. This was just the ticket I needed to seal the area around the box I recessed into the firewall (for the oil can on a 912s). RTV could have worked, however the highest heat rating I found was about 600 degrees. Here are a few pics...
