Can you tell me the differences between the Kitfox 5, 6 & 7 series airplanes?

Same basic airframe for all three. On the 6 & 7 you can switch from tail wheel to Nose gear in a matter of hours. The later models have a boot cowl and engine mount had been extended further for weight & balance using 912 series engines. My 5 is limited to 100 lbs in baggage area (without forward sweep on wings) where later models can go 150 ibs. Later models have a shorter wing tip and trailing edge of tail has been squared off. I'm sure there are more minor differences.

The different model history is set forth in the Kitfox Website.

Thanks for the link, I thought I had read everything on the Kitfox website, but never saw the history of each series. Thanks again.

Also, you can order the "Kitfox Pilots Guide" from Kitfox Aircraft. It details the difference between the models and handling differences. It is a wealth of information and I recommend it for all Kitfox Pilot's reference library.

The book is more than worth the purchase price. Still, much can be gained from comments made by those who fly these aircraft. I have found the Model 6 to be the most difficult to find information on. May be that there are fewer of them out there?
