I did not. I dont believe any Loctite was called for in the build manual.
In order for the push-pull tubes to get out of adjustment, BOTH rod end check nuts would need to come loose. Not very likely.

No, you don't need it. Just tighten or torque them the nuts. I put a colored "torque seal", which allows you to see if the nut has loosened.

If both lock nuts came loose, there's no change in adjustment because each rod has right hand threads.
Right you are Floog. But, if both came loose one end could completely unscrew itself. Its interesting, as you say, there would be no change in adjustment at all, until sudden failure when one end lets go.

If each Heim is screwed in more than half way then it couldn't happen.
It can't happen with the rudder.
That's cool! Just screw them in more than halfway (assuming you can and still get proper adjustment) and its failsafe, checknuts or not. Strength of threaded joint might be questionable on the end that is almost unscrewed.
