That's funny Josh. You might say I still want to do stuff but I need to just move on and get it airborne. I'll have it in Chandler this summer Steve.

Well done Eddie. Looking forward to some photos/vid of you're first flight.
Fly safe.

I have a question for the 912 guys. burping the oil supply, is it necessary after every shut down of the engine. when I was doing the prop balance, I burped it every time between adding weight. When I took it to the compass rose I also burped it before I started it up again to return to the hangar. Is it only necessary if its a cold start?

No Eddie, its not necessary every shutdown. Its only necessary when you want to get an accurate reading on oil level in the tank. After some minor maintenance, such as an oil change, its recommended to turn the prop about 20 blades sort of as a mini oil purge. Burping is for a different purpose-oil level check. I check it once a day before the first flight.

I had the same question Eddie. I have a model 4 with the 912ul. The engine sets almost against the firewall on a model 4 so the oil tank is mounted high. Mine seems to take a lot of turns to burp. I talked to Roger Lee. He said just to pull it thru a few turns cold to prevent hydraulic lock before startup. Then burp after flying to check oil level. Roger said burping has two purposes, to prevent hydraulic lock and to check oil level. I always burp mine after flying and it only takes about 12 blades if I pull it thru each compression stroke slowly. It works well for me.
You might say the stars are aligned for me this time. Last time, Stick and Rudder and I had a tough time coordinating time. Im heading up to Caldwell March 20, a few days after my inspection Mar 16. The sorry thing is, when I get home I have to work through the weekend. Tomorrow I get my transponder and pitot system checked out by the avionics shop. Oh, I also get to buy another ID plate. The FAA omitted the "T" in Kitfox S7 Super Spor from the registration form. So, get to pay the engraver again.

Sounds like your super close Eddie, don’t you love the little things that are sent to test us aircraft builders!
Looking forward to seeing some pics.
All the best with this last phase!

I see that, today, Rotax have brought out a new installation manual for the 912iS. They've made the electrical system diagrams a lot easier to understand. I bet you're pleased about that Eddie
Thanks Paul. Im not even going to look.
