Regarding brake bleeding, I have done my own automobile brakes and now my airplane brakes for many years and have never used a pneumatic bleeding system. I use the system just like in the Kitfox build manual, using a simple syringe or squeeze bottle on the lower brake bleeder fitting, and an overflow bottle at the upper reservoir and just inject fluid until all air bubbles disappear, and repeat for the other brake caliper. Maybe I am just lucky, but have never had a soft brake using this system.

Thx Jim, to me that all makes sense. Honestly, I just saw that people were asking questions about how to get the air out so I just went and bought this thing so I wasn't trouble shooting yet another issue. I suppose I just spent a few more dollars that I didn't need to, but knowing my luck, I was certain that I would be one who couldn't get air out as well.

I installed my wheels and tires some time ago. What am I to expect when I start taxiing this thing around with regard to tracking. I have zero shimming and I don't recall the manual even mentioning a possible need. Do you guys typically find that the things track true on the ground from the get go?

    Eddie,
I would check the wheel alignment. I can't remember if you are using the Grove gear or not, but when I replaced the gear on my 3 with Grove, I found I needed a shim. The aircraft can track straight on the ground but when landing, an out of alignment gear will make for a wild ride.
Grove has a guide to check alignment and what shim would be required. Go the their website, www.groveaircraft.com and click on the link for "axel" then "axel shims".
Even if you are not using Grove gear, check alignment anyway using their method. There are several other ways to do it, but theirs was the simplest.

Thank You so much Ralph. It was your statement I recall that got me thinking about this. I remember "wild ride". I don't want that kind of thing considering the money I have into this. I do have the Grove gear and was not aware of the web site you provide. Seems odd that the manual doesn't mention a thing about it. Thank you again.

Oh, to be more precise, I have shopped through the link here but I had not ever seen the instructions on tracking. Thanks Steve. I paruse out sponsors links about every month or so.

Thanks Eddie. Much appreciated when our members shop “ at home”.

They do track hits through TeamKitfox.
