I bought mine as a scrap from a store that specializes in foam rubber and floor mats. Lots of choices.

Pretty day yesterday. Parked the plane in front of the hanger and ran the engine for awhile. Goals were to confirm tightening the fuel connections stopped a drip and to figure out why the Lane B light blinks on regularly. Dustin (Shadowrider) posted a very helpful video, on Eddie's EFWD Build thread, that shows both the Garmin and Dynon systems displaying diagnostics from the 912iS. Garmin shows the messages in one of the system configuration pages. You have to hold down the Menu button on powerup to get to the display so I've added a panel switch for Display power so I can boot into this mode while the engine continues running. Helpfully, just as in the video, my problem is with an EGT sensor. Nice that the video demonstration shows where the sensor is located and how to disconnect the wiring.

Inspection is tomorrow so I'll leave everything as is for now.

Certified! My DAR was Mel Asberry out of Dallas. In January he issued his 1,000th certification and it was a real pleasure to have him do my inspection. Mel took the time to really look over the airplane, checking "showing thread" on bolts, lock nuts, cotter keys, secure wiring, hoses, etc. He wasn't overly picky, just thorough and I appreciate knowing all is well with the build. I'll be happy to pass along his contact information in a PM.

I need to label the Flap and Trim controls. And he wants me to remove the washers on the bolts that hold the rudder cable pulleys just behind the seat so threads will show. Certificate issued on the spot including night and IFR. Issued paperwork for the repairman certificate, with Mel's written instructions (ex. Height must be in inches not feet and inches). Now it's time to put everything back together and book some flying time in a Kitfox over in Dallas.

Nice Good Job! Same thing the DAR said to me is remove the washers on the rudder cable pulleys so the threads will show.
