    Default 912 Alternative Radiator Cap

Just confirmed today that the BMW 17112345074 radiator cap works with the 912uls. Only $35 online.

What's the pressure rating? It's not listed anywhere that I could find.

Larry, according to the posts on the Matronix List-

    Guy said: "
Well I haven't tested it but it has the 1.2 stamped on top and looks and feels identical. I suspect it's the same part. "

"This OEM BMW radiator cap is a direct replacement for the 1.2 bar Rotax 912 part at less than half the price."

Okay, then. That sounds awesome! Rotax is asking like $80 for their cap? Now we just need an alternate source for Ignition boxes!

(I cheated and built my own expansion tank with a "normal" $3, 16 psi [1.1 bar] cap.)

Found another cap you may want to consider. Used by KTM, Husqvarna, and Husaberg bikes. Part #77335016000
KTM bike cap only 18Cdn Warning this is a 1.8 bar cap so your engine could get a little hotter before it opens the cap. The website says your boiling temperature will increase because of the higher pressure.
This cap was easy to get. The BMW cap was $60 cdn and had to be ordered.
    1.8 bar = 26PSI
    1.1 bar = 16PSI

26 psi is really high. At nearly twice the pressure you might risk blowing off hoses.
