    Default Airframe grounding

I have the model SS with O-200 and so my battery will be mounted in the tail. The negative from the battery will be attached to the pictured bracket that is attached to the frame of the fuselage. Don't i need another one of these brackets in front of the instrument panel to attach a fast-on ground bus? Thanks, ken

I suspect that you could use one of the tabs already welded to the fuselage on the right side in that area... no need to add another one. The firewall is also already probably grounded to the airframe at multiple points, and that is a good location for a ground buss, but a dedicated connection to one of those tabs is a good idea in my opinion. You could then run a wire from that tab to the firewall & buss, &/or to the panel.

Mine had a welded tab back there. I used it. Not sure if they upgraded the
battery box, but the series 5 design was poor so I would build a better box
if that is what you have. Bruce Lina posted a series of pics when his broke
free in spin testing. I completely rebuilt mine with fairly heavy 6061 angle
Aluminum and attached it using homebuilt 4130 Adel clamps.
