    Default Finish Tape on Fuselage

When applying finish tape where the fabric wraps around a tube, do you wrap the finish tape around the tube also or do you end the tape edge in a different place? Also- do you apply finish tape where the fabric wraps around the door opening and where do you end the edge of this tape?

    Thanks

Wrap the tape evenly around the tube so it hangs down at least an inch on both sides of the tube. Use wide enough finish tape so it overlaps the edge of the fabric underneath.
Yes you also use finish tape around the door openings. About 1" or so on outside surface. The general rule is finish tape or gussets over all underlying structural members.

    Hi Tom,

As Jim says. thought a couple of pics might help. first is before tapes and second after tapes and polybrush. Are you working from the polyfibre manual? I just did exactly what it said to do and it was pretty easy to follow.

    cheers

A small photo essay about working tape around the door frame:

    Photo Two

    Photo Three

This may not be the best technique but, it's my technique.

I post these photos as links because they are quite large.
