I'm installing a Dynon D180 in my project plane. I'm using the Dynon AOA pitot tube.
Has anyone else used this tube? How did you mount it? Photos?

This is the fourth attempt to reply to your post and I keep getting blown out by Firefox. Don't understand what's going on.
Going to try and just send some pictures if the system will cooperate.
Ask questions later.
Did you use a "mast" like this?

Yes I did. I mounted the flat plate of the mast to the surface of the underside of the wing. See attached pics of finished product.
Thanks for the info and photos, John. It is a great help.
Now to decide if I want to fab my own or order the $100 mast from spruce...
Did you chrome plate or polish yours?
I used the Dynon AOA pitot tube and bought my mast from Safeair. It is anodized aluminum and looks very much like the one from ACS, but I believe less expensive. I painted mine to match wing. I mounted my mast flange plate to the inside of the plywood surface. I put nutplates on the flange and the screws come up from the bottom surface of the wing. Not sure why I did it this way, maybe just for a little cleaner look.

Digging through my pile of cr--, um, stuff today I found a piece of thin walled, streamlined 4130 which is an exact fit to the pitot tube. Looks like I'm going to fab one up. I will probably make it shorter than yours, John. I'm also moving the pitot inside the end of the lift strut for protection.
