    Default Trim Motor Current

How much current does the trim motor draw?

    Thanks

The recommended circuit breaker is 7.5 amps, so the actual current draw is less than that.

I'm in the process of planning my electrical system and was wondering the same thing for load analysis. Is there a data tag that shows the amp rating on the trim motor? Mine is installed and hard to see.

For load analysis the trim motor is nil because it is such a brief intermittent use. As long as the circuit is properly protected with a fuse or breaker you are OK. During its use even if the momentary current draw of the entire electrical system exceeds the output of the generator, you will only draw some extra from the battery, then when you take your finger off the trim switch the generator will be able to recharge that little bit of drawdown on the battery. The same holds true for other momentary loads like radio transmit, etc.

I checked the current draw awhile back and as I recall it was around 2.5 amps.

Not related but did you know you can run it using a little 9 volt battery?
