    C = Classic 4
    0203 = came out of the factory in March of 2002
    0278 = the 278th kit. I can't remember if it is that month, that year or total number of kits.

    Here's another example:
    I have C9705 0194
    The original invoice from Skystar is dated 05/28/97.
    It's described as a Classic 4 with quick-build wings, powder coat and a few other options came in at $12,694.03 which shows a $1,000.00 discount and the shipping is not included. I have not been able to find the serial number stamped on the airframe.
    I'd be interested in knowing how this serial number fits into the overall rolling total. At the time this Model 4 was purchased Skystar was offering the model 5 and apparently selling 4's and 5's during this period.

    Mine is C-9408-0047. It is stamped on the rear side of the triangle the horizontal stab attaches to. I ordered the kit in May of 1994 and it was built in August and delivered to me in September.

    The Model 4 1200 was discontinued when the Series 5 was introduced in 1994. The factory was still getting requests for the Model 4 so they put it back into production renamed the Classic 4. Although you will see the kitfox History lists the Classic 4 as beginning in 1991, I don't think so. Those were Model 4 1200s. The Classic 4s are the same but different

    Looking at the other two Classic 4 numbers posted above I would say the last 4 digits are a running total of The Classic 4s.
