Default Anything other than a Bing Carb

Is there any other type of carb that works well with the Rotax 582 other than the Bing 54 36mm carb

Sure. But the Bings have an extensive track record of working very well with the 582, as well as the rest of the Rotax aviation line.

Mikuni could have been the carb of choice for all of Rotax's aircraft products but as soon as they (their lawyers?) heard "Aircraft" they went running for the hills.
