Default Anywheremap Aviation Software + Tablet = Great Glass Panel ?

Samsung just last week introduced a really powerful, really fast 12 inch Android Tablet which can use SDXC memory cards for up to 128GB memory. Other new 8, 10, and 12 inch Galaxy Pro models were also introduced. Does anyone have any experience or comments using Anywheremap flight software with some of the older Androids ? Does it make for a nice affordable "glass panel" ?

Anyheremap software offers terrain, weather, etc, etc. The bang for the buck rating, especially with the larger, lightning quick new tablets, seems pretty high. Links are below.

I have Anywhere Map on a Samsung Galaxy II 7" and it works quite well.I have talked to other pilots that prefer other Apps but I'm satisfied with Anywhere Map.I'm going to use it as a backup to a flat screen EFIS for basic Nav Info.

I just last night bought a new Nexus 7 so I can use it for a GPS in the plane. I see there are a number of different apps that will work. If you google aviation GPS for android they will come up. I did use APIC GPS on a PDA for quite a while and I liked it. The PDA went belly up, so now I'm moving up to the larger screen. I would stick with the APIC GPS, but it needs a windows operating system to work on a tablet. The Nexus of course uses android. Well I'll get the chance to see what I think in a few days when the tablet shows up. take care, Jim Chuk

I had a Galaxy Note Smart Phone, if I took that thing in the sunlight it was illegible. I hope this one is better!
