Yup, but I will be able to burn auto regular. They added 132CC to the engine, so I think the dyno testing will show more power than they are claiming.

Bill - do they have a website somewhere showing details? Are these kits available for the 80 hp motors?

I am not sure. You may have to open the bore in the cylinder heads of a 912UL. No mods for the crankcase though. It would be best to call Hal Stockman at 775-934-5714. He uses well known vendors to fabricate the parts, but he does not have a website.

Two of my friends in S. CA have the Big Bore Kit's on, One was the 912ULS 100hp that went to around 114 and made a good bit of difference in his ability. Another was the 912 UL 80 hp that went to 104hp and it made a major difference in his performance, Wayne Flemmington of Rotax Service located in French Valley is installing these as well 951-255-9144, Once mine is ready for topend I will be putting it on.

I talked to Hal Stockman and he said his cylinders were sized to fit either the UL or the ULS without any modifications to the engine or heads. Any questions, feel free to call him, he is easy to talk to. 775-934-5714.

I wonder what the fuel burn is with the big bore kits..if its a significant difference for the UL

Some years ago I installed an O-320 in a C-150. When flown at the same cruise airspeed, fuel consumption was about the same as the original O-200 (specific fuel consumption being roughly the same for both engines), but if I flew at the same rpm, fuel consumption increased significantly. Take off distance shortened and climb performance increased dramatically. Of coarse I flew faster and lived with the increased fuel burn--but it sure was fun!!

eventually I plan on either getting another kitfox and mount floats on it,..or get floats for my 5 ..I'd prefer the best of both worlds,..and have 2 fox's keep the 5 as a TD and another 5 or up with floats,.. if I got my hands on a 912UL with high time for a decent price..the big bore kit might be the answer if my funds aren't up to par for a ULS purchase, allot of untold "IF's"

On the subject of hotrod 912's, I just noticed in a link (see below) posted by Snowpaw in the Oratex covering thread, has an article on a turbo system to take the 80hp up to 120hp.

That looks very interesting Mike, i know the turbo's work well for power, my ecoboost F150 has 2 of them , a v-6 pumping 365 hp , although its said a turbo isnt as responsive as a supercharger, i get instant response when eccelerating
