After considering all my options, I decided to go with Bill's suggestion of modifying the oil reservoir. I shipped the tank off to Dawley Aviation, 140 Industrial Dr, Burlington, WI 53105 (800) 338-5420. They are specialists in stainless steel exhaust systems.

The tank came back on Monday, and I could not be happier! It is exactly what I needed! They removed about 1/2 inch of the tanks column height, at the bottom of the tank; and replaced the round bottom with a flat one. They also moved the tank drain nut "off center" to better attach a quick drain plug and a hose in the future to drain the oil. They placed it perfectly, according to Bill's design. I have done a clearance check, and this is THE FIX for me.... I love it!

Dawley's workmanship is superb. The welding is excellent!

EDIT: The cost for the welding was $152.25 and the shipping was $20.61 to California.

Like I said this is all based on Bill's design. I can not thank Bill enough for his help in this. He even got with LEAF, a new forum support firm, and bought the correct quick drain plug for me, and had it shipped back with the tank! I could not write the check and thank you to Bill fast enough!!

    THANKS BILL!!!!
