There is always more than one way to do anything ! By the way AV8TOR, I saw and took lots of pictures of your radiator cowling at Oshkosh. I am building mine as a tri-gear, so mounting the cowling will be a bit different, but I took careful note of how you did yours. Well done.

Oops, sorry I screwed up your handle, I meant Av8r3400. I also looked at your floorboards in the area around the sticks.

God willing, it will be back there again this year.

I put my cell number on the prop tag, so give me a call and I'll open her all the way up for you…

Finally made it to the hanger.
I had to modify the oil tank brackets but it seemed easier than changing the dimension of the tank.
I’ll be back at the hanger tomorrow so I can remover the lower cowl and take a few pictures of the oil cooler.

    Steve,
Excellent! Can't wait to see your oil cooler photos!! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE!! As a subset of the forum, us "smooth cowl mod guys" don't have a lot of reference material!

    Again, thank you!

I had not thought of that in time, so I modified the tank, good idea. Did the drain plug on the bottom of the tank hit the firewall?

Hey Grover, I took some pictures today but left the camera in the plane so I'll have to post them tomorrow. You're right about us smooth cowl guys but I very happy with it. Great visibility, can't even see it from the cockpit.

Here’s what I did with the oil cooler. I cut the hole in the cowl before I mounted the cooler, hoping I could put it where it was supposed to go. That’s the reason for the ductwork. If I could do it again I would have moved the hole in the cowl down for a more direct airflow to the cooler.
I’m happy to help if you need more pictures or have any questions.
