Natalie and I just booked for 5 days at the end of May for an early June flight of our kitfox.

We are doing a tailwheel conversion and the backcountry loop. It will be two airplanes so that Natalie and I can each do the same things at the same time and camp out in Idaho together while comparing notes in the evening. To say we are excited for this trip is an understatement. It will be a little pricey for the two of us to do but I think the memories made will outweigh the costs. Plus we will both be insurable in the plane which is important.

Paul mentioned that you two were scheduled and wanted to do it together in 2 airplanes. That's great, Josh! I'm sure you will have a great experience.

One look at the quality of your build and the inspection will be done and dusted in 2 minutes. And it only took that long because he had to search for the FAA papers. Fantastic John. You must be excited.

Thanks all! It’s so good to have this forum and all of the good people here with a common interest. Even though many of us have not met, I feel like I have a lot of good friends here that I am very grateful for. Though I’ve never been a commercial pilot, aviation has been a very big part of my life since I was a little boy, and the good people in the Kitfox group have added a lot to that life.

Carl... not really so much of a shock as excitment and joy at finally being done. It’s been a bit of a grind the last few years, with my life situation being what it is. I am SO ready to fly this thing!

After a couple of tries to get a response from John @ Kitfox without success, I thought I’d throw this out to the group. Has anyone noticed the “misalignment” of the angles between the rudder cables and the axis and horn of the rudder? As it is, it creates a bending moment on the horn instead of a nice 90 deg. pull. I’ve thought of making a couple of new pairs of links with a slight bend in them to minimize that. This is on a Super Sport. I suspect that the alignment is correct on some earlier models where the cables exited the fuselage higher up, and when the routing of the cables changed, the original position of the rudder horn was maintained.
