    Hi Ross,

Those MGL Extreme's look good..everyone I know who has them fitted speaks very highly of them.
    Re-LLE.
Interesting how it resumed shape etc when released.
I found this previous thread showing the LLE being fitted and it looks like it was Hysol'd along every rib.

Of course we don't know if anything happened later.

It guess it would be interesting to hear if this LLE 'canning' has happened to anyone else and if they tacked or fully glued.

    Cheers,
    Alan

My LLE are glued to the ribs and false ribs, with no warping or other aberrations. They look just like the factory photos.

I glued mine to every rib also. I think it's ok. My thinking is that in any short section, between any 2 ribs (main or false), there will only be a very small degree of curve or flexing at worst. Each separate section between ribs can flex as it needs too. It might be possible for the bending or flex of the entire wing/spar to cause the fiberglass to flex non-uniformly, & bunch-up or concentrate in random areas, if not attached to each rib. I guess we'll see.

turned the wing over this morning and got the two spray coats of Poly Brush on the topside. I am happy with the result and what I have learned on this wing - now for the next one! I do think I might be using more product that the kt assumes though! I need to order more Poly brush, and some more tapes I think also.

    cheers

The Polybrush you get with the kit is just barely enough to get you thru the "hand brushing" part. The factory says that as soon as you start using a spray gun, you will have to buy your own materials.

Now I don't feel so bad. I have the same bulges of the false ribs aft of the LLE.

    Default Wing Covering

Thanks Jim - I was thinking i was being rather heavy handed with it! We have a local supplier so will be placing an order for more polyrush and tapes soon!

And Bill, I think the false ribs are a bit accentuated in the photo by the light, but I think it is pretty much as I saw in the factory. As it was the quick build wing I assume it is as it should be anyway!

I have a confession though - when covering, I forgot all about the flaperon attach brackets and ran my tapes right to the trailing edge on ribs that have the brackets - I am not sure how this might affect the fit of the brackets? Anyone else had to deal with this? I will be checking for two issues - how well the brackets sit on the ribs at the point of attachment, and if the rivets are long enough.

    Just reread your post Ross,
If your going to rivet your flaperon brackets over the top of the fabric you may have issue with the brackets working loose over time as the fabric isn't a stable surface for the flaperons ,they'll be working in an up and down motion which will wear the fabric through, just a thought ,my flaperons attach differently so it may not be an issue with the Kitfox setup

My SS7 flaperon brackets sit on top of the fabric and tapes and have not been an issue. The rivets are plenty long enough and pull the brackets down very tight to the structure. Should not be a problem.
