Visit the Kitfox LLC site for information on performance.

In general the Model 7 with a 100 hp motor will max cruise about 120 and stall at about 41. There are small differences due to builder variations, gross weight, propeller selection and pitch, but those numbers don’t vary by much.

The engine used doesn’t make a lot of difference. 100 hp is 100 hp regardless of the nameplate. Even if you bump the power up a bit you won’t see the speed increase a lot because of airframe drag.As for landing, it makes no difference if you have a 100 hp or 80 hp engine. The throttle is closed.

Generally, builders choosing an engine other than the Rotax have very definite reasons and specific goals. If you are asking on a forum what engine to use I highly recommend you stay with one of the factory supported engines. Fabricating your own firewall forward package and cowling for a non-supported engine is a lot of work and requires advanced skills.
