    Default SS7 stringer questions

How should I "prep" the aluminum stringers before installing them? Where the anterior end meets the door and door angle pieces, should the stringer be bent so there isn't so much pressure required to hold it in place? Thanks.

    Jch,

I did not put any kind of bend in the stringers. I felt the pressure of the stringer kept everything tight in that area. I prepped the stringers and sprayed the outward side, where the fabric touches the metal, with epoxy primer. I left the inward side "as is" in the theory that everything added adds weight.

    Jeff,

On our series 7, did pretty much like Tom did with no bending. Once the fabric is in place and shrunk - nothing is going anywhere. Only difference on mine is I epoxy primed the whole works.
