That looks like an Arizona sunset, right Steve.
OH I can't wait.
I need to get this thing done!
Eddie
Well!
Foxy Feet is back in the air!
I bought a new starter, (3 weaner steers worth), and while she was down, I had the prop reconditioned and had my AMO friend do an annual inspection.
I took a couple of weeks to get back into practice and took her away on Saturday last to see a pal in an area called Hogsback.
A small mountain near there was the stronghold of one of the tribal chiefs of the Xhosa tribe in the early 1800s.
He and his warriors rolled many a rock down the side, killing the ruddy English colonialist Redcoats - He he he he !
I am of Scottish heritage.
Anyway, the mountain peak is called Ghaika's Kop (Ghaika being the chief and "Kop" is the Afrikaans word for Peak. (The Afrikaans also hated the redcoats He he he he!). The spelling for Ghaika is horribly anglicised, and was probably more : "Gqayika" A nasal sound with one of the Xhosa clicks.
Xhosa is another of the clicks .
My pal's pasture made the ideal landing area for a short chinwag and a one way in and one way out adventure
Check out some Hogsback images and find out more about a lovely place:

Anyway!
A couple of Pictures.
Beautiful country !
Glad you got it flying again, Reid! By the way, what sizes are your main tires and your tailwheel?

Thanks John.
Mains are 7.00 x 6.00 given to me by a Maule driver friend who threw them out for bush wheels, and the tail wheel is a 2.50 x 2.80 (I think it's a standard Maule Tail wheel size?).
I carry a spare tail wheel tyre and tube which I happen to have bought from my local tyre outlet. They cost me the equivalent of your $ 30.59 all told.
It's even 4 ply.
I haven't had to use it yet, though.
I would like to get hold of 8.50 x 6.00 main tyres in the not too distant future.
I'm told that worn out Cessna 206 Mains are what can fit the bill. I will try and get hold of a couple.
My brother has just dragged a strip on his farm about 5 miles from mine, and we went over yesterday evening to be the first planes to land there.
It's especially a blessing to have one of my brothers to share the passion with....
Reid,
That looks like so much fun... and I think you are blessed. I hope to visit your country some day.
