I got tired of the flatlands of Texas a decided to do some Mountain Flying. I flew up to Idaho and meet up with Paul Leadabrand to get some Tail Dragger training. Paul is undoubtedly one of the best instructors I have ever had the pleasure to train with. If you just want to improve your skills, get a tail Dragger sign off, or to get your BFR. I would highly recommend Paul at Stick and Rudder. Here is a photo of me with Paul's plane in the Back Country of Idaho. I love the color of his planes! I've got a few more photos I'll upload when I get back home. There were two more SLSA at Boise, one getting ready to got to Alaska, and one to the East Coast.

I'm contemplating taking 703KA up to the factory, and get John to convert it to a Conventional Gear set up, and possibly a couple more mods.

Glad you enjoyed it Paul. It's exciting to expand your aviation horizons and doing it in Idaho while Paul guides you through it from the right seat is just icing on the cake.

Great photos and quite the beard by the way.
You look like a genuine back country mountain man pilot.

You'll never have a more down to Earth, relaxed training environment than with Stick & Rudder and those Kitfox he trains in are the ultimate back country machines.

Now if we can just get Paul to put one of those turbo-charged Kitfox on floats, I'd be expanding my aviation horizons.

Flew out to one of our Utah islands this morning. While standing around drinking morning coffee I found part of an old plastic rain jacket. There is also a T post next to the ranch road/airstrip ... so, now we have an official "Wind Rag" out there!

Great find SkySteve...and a rain jacket nonetheless. Now you have an all weather wind rag! Super! Perhaps some reflective material to get a glistening effect for higher vis...LOL. I have some old reflective belts from the service...back when (coughs) exercise (sorry for the profanity ) was a regular part of my day.
