    Question Hard to reach rivets

I'm finding it near impossible to pull a few of the rivets that hold the drag tube brackets to the spars. The rib prevents my rivet tool from getting into the proper position. Anybody else run into this and have a trick?

First I used a grinder to grind off a flat on the front of the rivet gun nose piece. This gets you in a little closer but not always enough. The next thing I did to get the rivets in where you spoke about was to use a stack of small washers about a 1/4" high over the rivet mandrel, then slightly bend the mandrel into the clear, then insert the flattened rivet gun on the mandrel up tight against the washers and pull the rivet.

Some guys make a little tubular sleeve of the proper length to fit over the mandrel, but I just used a stack of washers. It works but when the mandrel pops you have a handfull of washers all over the floor.

Jim you can always use a drop of super glue to hold the washers together
