Mike,
I don't know if this is what you want, but attached are three photos of the V I have been helping my friend with. The lights on the bottom were an afterthought and the location was perfect for the window he put on the cowl.

That looks a very neat installation!!
Did you make up the oil cooler brackets?

Hi Dave,
Yes, it is a modification of two I made up for a friend's Model IV and mine. It is a bit longer than those on the IVs because of the lower cowl opening and there is more room between the upper and lower arms in case the builder wants to install oil cooler shutters later - they would be on the aft face rather than the front. There is a lot more room in the 7 cowl for mods. Attached is a photo of mine with the shutters mounted in front.

Lowell,
The oil cooler in your pictures looks like an Earl's 21008 cooler... correct? Did you build your own brackets?... or where did you get them? I need a pair for a KF IV with a 912F.

Yes, it is the Earl's 21008. I made the brackets. I made up tooling as well. Contact off list.

I guess if I'd just read your post I'd see you fabbed the brackets yourself....

Thanks to Lowell's brackets, the install of an Earl's 21008 oil cooler is about a 1/2 hour job. Fit is great, only one small Dremel cut to make the cooler fit perfectly.
Total cost.... approx $120, cooler, fitings, brackets.
BTW... I've got a 912F with a Hoffman CS prop (the CS is controlled with 300 psi oil pressure, which is why the 912 needs a cooler in this appkication). The cooler takes about 30-40 degrees out. After 10 minutes of full throttle climb at 5500 rpm, with OAT @ 86, oil temp was at 218, normal cruise oil temp was between 200 and 208. Without an oil cooler, I had a tough time keeping the temps below 230 at slow cruise.
Here's some pics of the install.... VERY simple with Lowell's brackets.
Cheers,
Ackselle

What kind of oil filter is that?

The oil filter is a ROTAX, part # 825701.... just the normal filter, right out of the parts book.
