I want to glue fairing covers over the slit where the rudder cables exit the fuselage. I need a strong glue (Gorilla glue?) that will handle 100+ mph without wrinkling the fabric they will be glued to. Ideas and suggestions?

I like Hysol. If you are painted with a two part finish, you can clean up with acetone (test in a hidden area first). I use the thinner variety ACS sells. I have used it for adding polycarbonate doublers inside the fabric and minor fabric repairs in the past as the solvent based adhesives - Poly-Tac - can damage the finish.

When I was into R/C there was a product named PFM that would just about stick to teflon. Don't remember if it was solvent based.

I'm more concerned with wrinkling the fabric then holding power. I have several options for holding power but I'm concerned they might pull on the fabric and cause wrinkles with time.

I got the idea for lexan doublers from a friend who built a Rans S-7. Rans uses polycarbonate instead of aluminum around the lift struts, etc. The beauty of that is that you can screw fairings to the polycarbonate using quarter inch sheet metal screws - don't overtighten. This might be a possibility for your fairings. Glue the Poly inside and screw the fairings on. There should be no wrinkles. I just rechecked my static ports and virtually undetectable still after zero hours flying.

I used plane old RTV and it has worked really well. If I need to remove it then I used dental floss to cut through the RTV and there is no damage to the fabric or paint. It cleans up when it is still uncured and it fills any voids or gaps in the fit. I have flown above 130mph and no issues. Stays where I put it.
