    Default Door up catch neccessary?

Are the door "upcatch" brackets really neccessary? Building a model 4 and my directions obscurely located the requirement to drill the holes before covering and I missed it. I already covered the wings and while I think they could still be installed with a little work I'm wondering if it's really neccessary to have them. I figured I would just make the door open up to where when the strut bottoms out it's just below the wing. Thoughts?

Hi if your going to install the gas lift spring then no you do not need the up locks. I highly recommend the the gas struts easy to install and very handy.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, the struts look a whole lot easier to install! I have directions for both so I figured using both was standard. I guess the struts were an added option.
