    Default Narrow 8" Kitfox tires?

So I've got the 20x7x8's like all of us seemed to at one time - but I'd like to get 'TALLER' balloons. Since I go on a trailer, the 21x12x8's won't
    work so red hot.

I'd like to stand taller, like a 23x7x8 would be the ultimate.... or even
    21x7x8 would be acceptable replacements.

has anyone seen a taller but narrow (7 or 8" wide) tire for our 8" rims?

    Thanks!

Can you describe your method for lathe cutting? And how were
your results if you did it yourself? kinda ugly / rough? or did it
come out real profesional looking? I've got lathes but not sure how
successful it would be without the right tire shaving equipment.

over inflate the tires a couple lbs ,..lay them in the sun or where they can get heat for a couple hours, this is os they run as true as possible,..no high spots on the tire..put them on lathe,..use a 500 to 600 rpm setting ,.make sure your tool is sharp,.if you've got a narrow spoon ,..use that,.start at the side wall and work your way towards the middle from each side,..it's going to be messy ,..rubber will get everywhere ,.so if your using a metal lathe ,..put something over your catch tray,..don't need chunks of rubber going thru the coolant ,.take a little at time and try not to cut into the flat part of the tire closest to the plys,..once you've got the knobs off ,.take some rough sand paper and just scuff the surface of the tire a little while it's spinning on the lathe,
if you've got an electric hot knife and cut the knobs off first as close as you can it saves allot of mess and time on the lathe,..
if your using a wood lathe,. something set up to hold your tool mechanically would be best with a 4 way adjustment
free hand might be a challenge

Yikes thats a lot of rotational speed for a big item like a tire...
You want to cut some down for me?

    Cheng Shing 20X7X8...................30.95$
    Kenda 20X7X8....................52.95$

yep, have the Chen Shings now, however has
anyone ever successfully (attractively!) cut down a 22" or 23"
ATV tire in this manner? (I need to keep it pretty narrow tho,
like a 22x8x8 so I can still load it on my trailer).

the tires looked pretty good after doing them on the lathe ,.. and the tires arent that heavy, so it's not really allot of mass spinning ..but,.. if you've got a light duty lathe then you might not want to do it,..
when I sold my last welding/fabrication business everything went so I don't have a lathe ,..

I've never tried it, but I hear using a belt sander with a very coarse belt works, too.

(I'd bet it's pretty messy, too.)
