    Default Glareshield installation

Anyone have suggestions for a method to use to determine the cut-out in the glareshield to fit around the front suppport tubes?

    Nothing to it.

We will assume you have the instrument panel in place.

Set the glare shield on a bench upside down. Measure from each corner of the glare shield diagonally to the front edge. Find a point equidistant from the corners. This will locate the center. Do the same for the aft edge.

Now draw a centerline between your two points.

Next measure the setback distance from the windshield or cowling flange to the fuselage X bracing.

Mark the same setback distance from the forward centerline on the glareshield. Cut a slot the width of the fuselage X bracing back to your mark.

Slip the glare shield into position for a trial fit. If it doesn’t reach the windshield, deepen the slot.

Pretty much like John said worked for me, slight tweaking while fitting.
