    Default Engine mounts

    Hi
I'm going to change the motor on my Mk2, from a 532 to
a 582 blue top. The front left engine mount is slightly different
in that the top bolt is 6mm and position is slightly out,
the lower one is the original 8mm, does anyone make a
    new mount? Ideas? Thanks

If you decide to make your own motor mount, Aircraft Spruce sells all kinds of tubing and round stock, etc. made from 4130. Chrome-Moly tubing. You might want to get a set of drawings if you want to make it yourself. Some of the factory mounts are MIG welded. I prefer TIG. You might want to get a couple steel plates. One to mount onto the fuselage, the other to pattern the engine side. If you use 1/2" or 5/8" all-thread to keep the two plates separated, they won't move on you.
There is a lot more to go with this. Do you belong to an EAA chapter? We have Tech advisors that are a great help.Hope this is a help, Lion8 (Tom).
