    Default riveting

Gents, I just lost a whole day trying to rivet (for my first time) ss/ss rivets 4mm with a hand-tool - didn 't work: it looked like the tool does not have ebnough grip to pull the nail...
    What can I do???
    Any ideas appreciated!!

Maybe your "tool" is too small. Oh, sorry, I just couldn't help myself.

It takes a good quality rivit gun to pull those stainless rivets. I wore two out putting the rivets in my wings. It just about wore out my hands too.

A friend loaned me and air rivet puller. This thing is so great I would purchase one if I could not borrow one. Just pull th trigger and the rivet is pulled.

We got this one when it was on sale for $29.99. I pulled 2 of the stainless rivets w/a manual puller and would not even consider building a plane w/out an air riveter. On the other hand I have a friend that just completed an RV12 using ONLY a hand riveter (or so he claims).

The rivet puller from harbor freight looks very similar to the one I borrowed. Like you said I would not even consider pulling ss rivets by hand. Darrell
