I guess it is time to show how I am laying out my panel. As I stated once before I am flying from the right seat, 30 plus years flying taildraggers in tandem configuration my right hand is stick happy with left throttle. I wanted a place for a tablet and on the left is where it fits best. It can be flat on the panel, if a passenger wants to help navigate or look up airports or any other info or it can swing out for me to use if wanted/needed during a flight. I do like options. The tablet is attached to a back plate with strong velcro, the back plate is attached to the panel with a piano hinge. There is also a piano hinge on the back side of the back plate to secure the assembly when swinging it out.

It is trim, PTT, Ident, and radio flip flop. Here is the button I used. And the dimmer switch I used is this one. Make sure to select the ohm rating for what you're doing. I used a 10K and 100K for heater fans control and one for PFD dimming.

Awesome, thanks for the links! Do you ever trip a function accidentally while operating the toggle? Like trying to talk on the comm but accidentally trimming, or vice versa? Just curious how sensitive the toggle is.

    Thanks again.

Not yet. But there's only ground testing ATM with it. That said, the center PTT has a good range and any downward press seems to allow side motion without activation of other functions. As far as I remember it's specific application/design is for aircraft and considered "military grade". Probably why it's so expensive.

I tried for simple, light weight and cost effective.
Looks like your panel folds down. If so, how do you lock it up?

I lock in place using the AN3 bolts called out in the design and the support bars that go to the fuse weldment as well.

What isn't shown in the picture of the hinge is the piece of rubber (I used silicone baffle seal - just because I had some) sandwiched between the hinge pieces.

    I stayed with the bolts because I didn't want to discover any vibration issues down the road. My not be needed . . . . . . . but . . . . . .

I also added thru collars (don't know what else to call them) in the rod ends that mount to the panel. They are "Hysoled" in place.

Thanks for the pictures and explanations. Another question. Since the panel is secured up from the back, how do you unbolt it and swing it down?
